What information we collect about you
We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter or complete a customer review via Trustpilot or reviews.io.
When you place an order with us we will ask you for the following information so that we can give you the best customer experience possible:
Full name, e-mail address, billing address, shipping address, contact phone number.
We do not collect any personal data considered to be ‘Special’ as specified in article 9 of the Global Data Protection Regulation.
How do we use the information you provide
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
To process your payment when you place an order - Cheerful Soles use third party payment providers Paypal and Barclaycard (via Takepayments secure gateway) to complete your online transactions.
To post your items to you - We share your name and address with our delivery partners in order to send your goods to you. For delivery to addresses outside of the UK, we will pass on your contact details (including email and telephone number) to our international delivery provider. This is for the sole purpose of contacting you to make arrangements for payment of your domestic VAT (all orders) and Customs Duty (where applicable). PLEASE NOTE UK VAT is deducted from the purchase price during the checkout process for all orders delivered to countries outside of the UK.
To provide updates on the progress of your order - We share your email address and contact phone number with our delivery partners. They will use this information to send you information and updates pertaining to the whereabouts of your order.
To improve customer service - From time to time we may ask you to take part in an online survey about our website, products and services. This is done for the sole purpose of helping us to improve our services to you. At no point will we pass on this information to a third party without your expressed consent
To send email Newsletters (where you consent has been provided) - During the check-out process you will be given the opportunity to opt in to receiving our Newsletter. If you choose to subscribe then we will also use your email address to send you in season news, updates and discount offers related to the current shoe collections available. Your name and email address will be stored in our secure Mail Chimp account (see who we share your information with).
For our company records - Cheerful Soles are required to keep accurate records of all sales transactions for VAT and Tax purposes. These records are not shared with anyone other than HMRC upon request.
Accessing and making changes to your information
Customers with a Cheerful Soles Account - All registered users of our site may make any changes to their information at any time, by logging into their "my account" area.

Who we share your information with
Our trusted Delivery Partners Evri (previously My Hermes) and Royal Mail
Your name, address, email and telephone number is shared for the sole purpose of getting your goods to you and for updates on the progress of your delivery from our trusted partners. Our trusted online payment providers – Paypal and Take Payments
Cheerful Soles do not process or retain any of your personal payment details. When you complete your payment transaction you are re-directed to the secure servers for the appropriate payment provider. Please note that all Paypal transactions are subject to the Paypal Privacy Policy. All credit and debit card transactions are subject to the Take Payments comprehensive privacy policy
Our trusted online independent review partner - reviews.co.uk
We use Review's secure servers to send an automated review request to the email address you provided us with. You are under no obligation to complete a review If you choose to register with Trustpilot and complete a review then please note that any personal data you provide them with is subject to Reviews end user Privacy Policy.
Our trusted email campaign management provider – Mailchimp
If you opt in to receive our newsletter we will import your name and email address data only to our secure Mailchimp account. We use the secure Mail Chimp server to send our regular newsletter to our subscribers. You can review Mailchimps Privacy Policy here
We do not disclose any of your information to any other outside parties for independent use.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We may however release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law.
How do we protect your information?

When you make a purchase
Our website is hosted securely and managed by NuBlue. All supplied sensitive personal data and credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required keep the information confidential.
