The Alegria Clog £81: Reviewed by Jo, CheerfulSoles

More about the shoe

[caption id="attachment_53" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Alegria Classic Clog in Sangria"]Alegria Classic Clog in Sangria[/caption] We were first introduced to Alegria in September 2009. We instantly loved their unique style and knew that you would too. Even better than how they look is the comfort concept behind them. All styles have a mild rocker sole which is meant to help you propel you feet forwrads when walking and relieves pressure on your toes and heels. They all have full removable footbeds which are made of leather, allowing your feet to breath. The footbeds are also anatomically designed, meaning that they mould to your feet for ultimate comfort. We currently stock four of their styles, available in different colours; the Classic Clog, the Paloma Shoe, sandal and Venice Sandal. View all styles now>>

My Review

As soon as I saw the colour (mine are Sangria like the picture above), I knew that I had to have them! As for comfort, it really is like stepping out in your slippers. The rocker sole doesn't take any getting used to and is really comfortable to walk on, it's not like an MBT or anything so serious. The major plus for me are the insoles which are really comfortable, you feel the cushioning as soon as you put them on. Now that the sun has made an appearance I have been wearing mine (as you need to wear without socks in my opinion) and my feet have remained cool and dry day in and day out. I am up and down constantly with two young boys and seem to spend my life running after Harrison, my youngest son. So am pleased to say that even though this is a clog with no back, it does remain firmly on your foot and stays in place. more than can be said for Harrison, (staying in place I mean).

Would I remommend to a friend

I would definitely recommend these shoes to a friend, they are so comfortable, I have already bought a paire for my sister as a Birthday present! What I would point out is that they are a fairly wide fit and when you look down on them they do look even wider! It does look a bit strange, so you need to look in a full length mirror to see that they don't look out of proportion with the rest of you. The removable insole is really large and I would say that for an orthotic wearer, you would need to have your prescription built into the insole rather than replace with one of your own.

Summary

Comfort - These shoes really are designed for the young at heart, who want comfort and something a bit different. This is exactly what you get with Alegria, you really feel the benefit of the anatomical design and cushioning in the insoles and will not be disappinted with the unique design and finish. Style - You will get comments from your friends and in my case mums on the school run, they are fun and really different and unlike sandals at this time of year you won't be caught out in the Spring Showers! More Alegria Styles Coming Soon! We are expecting another delviery of these exciting shoes from Alegria in May.
