We know that it can be hard finding the right size shoes, especially online, so we have included this fitting guide to help you determine what size shoe will be best for you. Please note that some fittings may vary due to characteristics of different styles, manufacturers and different customer’s feet. Some customers may need to try a smaller or larger size to determine the best fit. We will let you know in the product description when you may need to order a smaller or larger size than you would normally wear. Remember, this is only a guide, it is ultimately your decision what size shoe to buy but hopefully the information you find here will help you to find the right shoes the first time!

Measure a shoe that already fits

If you are looking for a shoe to accommodate an Orthotic Insert, then we would recommend that you take the same measurements that we provide for our Orthotic Friendly Shoes for a pair your shoes that you know already fit. That way you can compare measurements with the shoes you like to give you a better insight as to whether or not they will fit with your Orthotic. We appreciate that this may not be possible if this is your first pair of Orthotic Friendly Shoes, so please in all instances ring us to discuss further on 01756 753858.

Know your shoe size

Most people are familiar with the size of shoe that they wear, however knowing what UK size converts to which Continental size can often be confusing. We have listed all the size conversions in the table below for you.

Know your Foot Width

If you don't know what your foot width is, the best thing to do is have your feet measured, however most people will have a general idea. If you have found buying shoes that are wide enough a problem in the past, then you are likely to require a wider fitting. Finding your Cheerful Soles width category

There is no world wide standard for shoe widths so here at Cheerful Soles we have decided to categorise them into a simple structure that will be easy for you to use. Once you know whether you are Narrow, Standard, Wide, Extra Wide or Extra Extra Wide, you will not have to refer to this section again. Please remember that this is only a guide but hopefully it will help you to choose the right shoes the first time!
